Went for a hike up to the Château last week. It was a beautiful day, clear blue skies and bright sunshine, but about 2 degrees above. The kids had a great time pretending to be knights.

Holiday Apartment in Murol

My name is Mike Smith. Welcome to my blog (started 18th November so pretty empty right now) As the title suggests I am an Englishman living in Murol. Murol? Murol is a small village (pop. 340, alt. 800m) in the mountains of the volcanic Auvergne region of France. I have lived here for 4 years with my wife, Liz and two children, Joshua (7) and Imogen (4). We run a small holiday lettings agency with over 60 houses to rent in the Puy de Dome region of the Auvergne. At various times I return to my former life as a chartered surveyor in the UK to help pay the bills in France. This blog will be mixture of my own articles, stuff from newsites that grab my attention and any other miscellaneous bits depending on my time and mood. Please feel free to comment on anything you find here. Oh, and I am a passionate sports fan, a follower of rugby, football (Liverpool) and cricket (Kent, England) so you will find plenty of stuff on this subject here.
